Dog in the Fog was taken in 1997 and is the cover of  my Delta Land book. It happens to be in the exact spot on Cassidy Bayou in front of my house where Willaim Eggelston took his iconic photograph “Sumner, MS” of a white man and a black man in front of a white car c.1970. The dog was taken in a rare fog and the subject was my neighbor’s dog Jackson, now deceased.—Maude Schuyler Clay
