WHAT: Do you have a photography project – or even just the spark of an idea – that could benefit from fresh eyes and community support? Are you looking for a space to see what fellow photographers are creating right now?

This Salon is designed for you. Elizabeth and Nancy will select eight projects to feature, offering insightful feedback and opening the floor for questions as time allows. Whether you are presenting or observing, it’s an opportunity to connect with a vibrant creative circle.

WHY: Because we all need a fresh perspective, a steady dose of encouragement, and a pulse on what’s happening in the photography world today.

Want to Submit You Work? $20

Once registered, you’ll receive a link to upload your project for review. If your work isn’t selected for this session, don’t worry – it stays at the top of the list for consideration in our future Salons. Either way, your registration grants you access to our live virtual critique and community dialogue. Full instructions on submitting work will be sent to you once registered. Click HERE.

Even if you aren’t submitting work this time, join the conversation Our Salons are designed as a masterclass in visual storytelling – watching the breakdown of projects is the easiest way to sharpen your own eye. You’ll have full access to the live Zoom session, the Q&A, and the collective critique. Most of our members find they learn just as much from watching the review process as they do from being in the hot seat. Click HERE.

Elizabeth Avedon

is an independent curator and photo consultant. Formerly Director of Photo-Eye Gallery in Santa Fe and Creative Director for The Gere Foundation, Elizabeth is widely recognized for her exhibition design and publishing projects which includes Richard Avedon’s In the American West for the Amon Carter Museum, the Corcoran Gallery of Art, and the High Museum, Atlanta. Along with leading advanced photo-book design workshops, Elizabeth is an instructor in the Masters in Digital Photography program at the School of Visual Arts, New York. She is a recipient of the Griffin Museum of Photography’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Nancy McCrary

is the founding editor and publisher of South x Southeast Photomagazine (sxsemagazine.com), director of South x Southeast photoworkshops (sxseworkshops.com), and South x Southeast Photogallery (sxsegallery.com). She began SxSE in 2011 after spending 10 years as co-director of SlowExposures Photo Festival. Her background also includes editorial and business positions in magazine publishing. She has experience with portfolio reviews, curating exhibitions, photography books and periodicals, and producing workshops.
